We are happy to host the 9th International Conference on Vibrational Optical Activity (VOA9) at Saga University (Japan) in September 2026. Bringing together leading experts of vibrational optical activity and current active researchers in the field provides a forum to discuss the latest research, techniques and instrumentation from around the world.

The topics of the conference include:

– Latest developments in instrumentation for vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) and Raman optical activity (ROA)
– Applications of VCD and ROA techniques
– Techniques complementing chiroptical spectra analysis
– Theoretical chiroptical studies (post-HF, DFT, CP, MD, QM/MM/Continuum)
– Related chiroptical studies such as Electronic Circular Dichroism (ECD) and Circularly Polarized Luminescence (CPL) Spectroscopies
– Complementary techniques: nonlinear and time-resolved spectroscopies, SERS, MVCD
– P. J. Stephens award session
