“History and Recent Advances in Vibrational Optical Activity”

  Both forms of vibrational optical activity (VOA), infrared (VCD) and Raman (ROA) were first measured and confirmed in the period from 1973 to 1975. Since then much progress has been achieved in the measurement, instrumentation, theory, calculations and applications. In this talk we will review this history and progress as well as describe some recent advances of biological significance.
