“Navigating Electronic States in Metal Complexes by Chiroptical Spectroscopy”

The talk will be about applications of Raman optical activity (ROA) spectrometer to metal complexes including lanthanides and several transitional metals. It contains two parts:

1) Brief summary on ROA spectrometer measuring lanthanide circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) and some applications in biomolecular structure studies.

2) A recently found electronic circular dichroism-circularly polarized Raman (eCP-Raman) phenomenon through resonance ROA studies of several transitional metal complexes.
